The Pediatric Critical Care Unit (PCCU) at CHAM excels at treating post-surgical patients and those with acute respiratory conditions or sepsis. We bring the full resources and expertise within CHAM to provide the most comprehensive level of compassionate care to children dealing with life-threatening health issues where every minute counts. Our multidisciplinary approach means that if needed, your child can have immediate access to our renowned team of heart surgeons, cardiologists, infectious disease specialists, hematologists, nephrologists and other experts who treat illness and medical complications—including acute respiratory failure, septic shock, traumatic injury from accidents, encephalitis, complex cardiac surgery and more.
Our board-certified pediatric intensivists work with cardiologists, pulmonologists, otolaryngology (throat, head and neck) physicians, cardiothoracic surgeons and other specialists from both CHAM and Montefiore Medical Center. In addition, award-winning faculty from our laboratory partner, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, supervise and attend to patient care.
