We bring the full resources and expertise within CHAM to provide the most comprehensive level of compassionate care to children dealing with life-threatening health issues where every minute counts. Our multidisciplinary approach means that if needed, your child can have immediate access to our renowned team of heart surgeons, cardiologists, infectious disease specialists, hematologists, nephrologists and other experts who treat illness and medical complications—including acute respiratory failure, septic shock, traumatic injury from accidents, encephalitis, complex cardiac surgery and more.

A medical fellowship in the Pediatric Critical Care Unit (PCCU) at CHAM is a rewarding, career-advancing experience. Critical care fellows accepted into our rigorous program get the challenging opportunity to treat and observe the rare, congenital and critical care cases of a diverse population from New York and around the world. Established in 1986, the Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellowship at CHAM and Albert Einstein College of Medicine is a three-year program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).

Our comprehensive training includes all aspects of pediatric critical care. Fellows work alongside 11 subspecialty board-certified pediatric intensivists. In addition to comprehensive education in standard critical care procedures and management, fellows receive extensive training in all methods of advanced therapeutics, including non-conventional respiratory support, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), ventricular assist devices and renal replacement therapy.
